Kingsbridge Area Foodbank provides a much valued service for the community.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
The foodbank has been in operation since 2012, started in response to emerging local needs, and with the example of others being set up locally and nationally, by an ad-hoc group of individuals and existing local organizations. Various other local groups and services can refer their clients in crisis to the foodbank.
Food items (generally non-perishable), and some non-food items, are regularly donated by members of the public at various collection points and also at particular times of the year.
Volunteers are involved in collecting and organising donated food, and running the distribution point. The weekly numbers of clients needing the foodbank’s support have increased noticeably through the years since activities began.
Financial support is received from local bodies and many individuals. This is needed to pay the running costs of operating the foodbank, particularly for renting the premises used. Maintaining the current level of action will need ongoing funding, while hoped-for expansion of activities will require a definite increase.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
